Can anyone help me.
I want to configure VM 2.0 with no payment method, i.e. Invoice (the old fashion way).
How do I set this up?

Just wondering if you want no payment method then maybe in Shop>>payment methods>>create a new payment called "free"

Free _ would have a cost value of 0 save and publish only that payment method.

* then in Configuration>> checkout>> tick enable automatic select payment.

* just try that - the result should be that

* Your customer chooses a product and it goes to the cart>> types in their address>> selects a shipping method and the cart should automatically choose free payment.

* on confirm you customer will get an invoice only.? Just try that.

Your solutions doesn't fly. At checkout the customer sees that there is no payment necessary, but still needs to go through the button "pay" (afrekenen in dutch), at the right bottum,to go to the next page where he can confirm the order.

I'm not sure what VM1 or 2 you are talking about .

im VM one yes the customer saw all those processes step at a time.

In VM2 you can turn thos processes off in configuartion.

so they see no steps - just fill in the billing address, click postage option and payment never gets asked it only shows  on the invoice later in the email.

You might have the steps turned on - try turning the step process off? just a thought.

Where can I find the option to switch off payment at checkout? (VM 2.0.0)

I dont think there is an option. You can change Pay in the language files maybe, to "Doorgaan" or something

I'll try again- You would like the customer to receive an invoice that says " thankyou for your order The vendor will contact you soon to organise -payment" ? by phone- "please have your invoice available when we call.?
Then you the vendor makes contact and organise payment in some manner.

So they do not pay on the net? or you don't pay at all?

* In this option you can set in Shop>>payment methods>> an option " create "free Payment" or "vendor will contact you" >>standard>>  and publich just this method.
* your payment option must have a description written in it explaining how you want them to pay - " like we will contact you for payment options"

* Now go into configuration>>configuration>>Enable automatic Selected payment>>

* Customer then goes to the store, adds a good to the cart>>check out>> payment option is not there > it is hidden>> and then confirm.

* What happens now is that you and the customer receive an invoice the old way. no payment first and you just ring or email them with information.

* I would suggest that on the front page of your site you explain your payment method. eg.  After the invoice we will contact you to arrange shipping and payment costs.

* If you don't want any payment of cost or shipping - then turn your shop to a catelogue shop and get custmers to order through the email - attached to each good. " Again I have seen this method where the shop explains that they do orders through the email section one good at at time.

I just tried the method above and it looks ok on my site - The area where you fill in all  the information does not give you a choice to pay or postage as "you the vendor" have made these automatic.

But for the person writing the coding for the cart.

I have a question here whether an invoice is generated and stored somewhere for a purchase order in virtuemart?

all orders are stored , even test ones.

In orders? Yes you can look them up in the back - monitor them etc.

They tract and keep all invoices and histories or purchases of goods.

* I guess to extend this question is that orders could go to someone other than you the vendor - and then another person could look them up somewhere else.

* This is very handy if you are away on holidays etc.

Actually I came across the fact that a purchase order and an invoice are two different things, therefore i put this question. Yes I can see orders as you have described.

This is very interesting for me!
I'm setting up a shop with both free and non-free products. So what I would like to have is the option to choose between Paypal and the solution described here. How come this "invoice option" one only works with the option"Enable automatic Selected payment" checked? If this option is not checked, the free payment option will not show up in the list of payment options, and if it's the only option, VM will say that there is no payment options available :(

I would be very happy for some insight/ help with this issue.
