Migrating Data from VM1.1.x / J1.5 to VM2 / J2.5

Hi All,
Firstly apologies if this question has been answered, I did look but couldn't find what I needed.

I have a client that has a fairly standard VM1.1.x shop who has asked me to look at redesigning the site, updating to J2.5 / VM2 as part of the process. We'll be keeping the same products and associated files (images etc), but the whole template will change.

Is there a sensible way to simply migrate the whole products and category data from one to the other?

I've used CSVI on a couple of other sites, very useful when you're updating 400+ prices every month ;o), will that do the job?

Dont use j2.5 yet !
There is a migrator delivered in vm2. Additionally you can use the new csvi for vm2 or maybe this one http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=93188.0
