My products no longer add to my cart

Hey all,
I am using Virtuemart 2.0 and Joomla 1.7 and everything was going along just fine.  I had a few product entered into the site, and everything was functioning as expected.  I then closed it down for the night and came back and added some more products the next day.  When I got a few done I went to the front end and checked to see if functionality was still there.  It was not, here is what is different.

When I once added a product to the cart a small pop-up window would come up saying that "product x" was added to the cart and have two options, continue shopping or show cart.  When I would show cart there would be "product x".  Like I said it worked as expected.

So when I tested it for the first time this morning I would click add to cart and nothing at all would happen.  No redirect, no action at all.  This was happening on all products, not just the new ones that were added.  I Then found a suggestion to turn off the "Using the Virtuemart jQuery" in the virtuemart_configuration_templates.  This did have an effect, but not the right one.  Now the little pop-up window does not show up and the page goes directly to an empty cart with no "product x"

I have read that the url name must be the same for virtuemart.  I am guessing that you change this url in the virtuemart_shop_vendor_vendor information section.  I have tried every different url possibility here and still no change. http://, http://www., https://, https://www.

Can anyone help me figure out what happened between this working as expected to not at all?
