Is there a flow chart on how VirtueMart 2 works?

Hello,

Our long term aim is to modify the order that goes into the database.  I know that is mine to deal with but what I'm having difficulty with is getting the flow of an order through the pages.  For example, what php pages/classes, etc does an order go through once you hit the "Confirm Order" button?  If I could find a way to walk through the various pages/classes in order, I think I'll be ok. 

Does anyone have any hints/suggestions on how to do this?  Is there any flow chart/diagrams available?
