Problems Setting up paypal on Virtuemart

Hi All

I have been trying to get my head round setting up VirtueMart so that I can take credit card payments from non paypal users.  I use the virtuemart cart and wish to only use paypal at the very end to make the payment of all items in my cart.  Can someone help me with idiot proof instruction as I have been seraching the internet, called Paypal and even looked to the sky for a little spiritual help and no one seems to be able to direct me.

I would really appreciate any help with this as it is the last step before I am able to put the site in action.
