Shipping Module for Unishippers

Hi All:

I've developed a pretty custom implementation of Virtuemart on a Joomla 1.5 site. It is close to going live and one of the final pieces to the puzzle is to implement a shipping module using Unishipper.

Unishipper does provide an API for developers to do this sort of work, and the SDK is available here: http://www.unishippers.com/content/developerresources.html

Some specs on the running system:
Joomla 1.5
Virtuemart 1.1.6 Stable
PHP 5.2.17 (can go to 5.3 if it will aid in the process)

Developed code can be contributed back to the project or sold at the developer's discretion. Ideally this extension would be installable as an extension but this is not necessary, as the use case is fairly unique.

Quotes should include:
Hourly rate
Estimated hours to complete
Quoted amount
Example of previous work

Payment via paypal or check.

A couple of questions:
1. Since VM 2.0 is released and Joomla 2.5 will be out soon, the module will not have a long shelf life. Do you still want to support a pretty general shipping module that works in all cases?
2. What shipping services do you expect to use?
