Problem with front end manufacturers

When product category is selected manufactures displays only those manufactures that are on current page.

Example: I have category called "shorts" there are 105 products. Every page on front end I display 15 products to shoppers. Category "shorts" contains products from 10 different manufacturers but front end manufacturer drop down shows only those manufacturers that products contain on current page but is should display all manufactures from selected group.

Then install the manufacturer module. The dropdown is exactly doing the right thing. I wonder that people do not feel it. I am using the internet since 17 years.

Sidemenu and top menu are recognised as something global. The more something is in the mid of the page, the more speshitpilled it is meant. Your brain work that way. So when we have module and a list, would be boring to show two times the same, eh? :-)

On the other side, it would be better to have only a module, with more different possible configurations. Then adding a module possition on top of the mainbody. Atm we have two slightly different solution, which could be done more elegant.
