Low Stock Notifications

How do Low Stock Notifications work? I have got Manage Stock turned on, low stock level set to 10 in the product,  if someone buys the product the 'in stock' level drops.
But if it drops below the Low Stock level nothing happens.
What do i need to configure to get a notification out?

RC3. Nothing happens when i click on Notify. Its dont add to cart and dont show any window. How customers will notifyed when product back in stock?

Do you mean "someone order" or "order is shipped"? Because stock decreases only with shipped order status. Maybe it is a reason?

You have real stock and virtual stock(ordered but not shipped).
The real stock is only decreased when you have shipped your product but stock level is calculated real stock - ordered product

yes i 'm also looking to turn on low stock notification in vm 2.2 and joomla 2.5

Plz anyone from virtuemart development team  ! ANswer this important question as there is no updation of stock! also there is no notification email is sent out to customer Instead we can ordered product if they are not in stock also!

Plz help guys as this is very critical issue for a virtumeart  eshop

I think that is a bug. We will take a look on it.

This has been on the 'We'll look at it' list for nearly 5 months - any news yet?

Joomla 2.5.4 / VM 2.0.4 - same issue, stock not updating, regardless of order statuses....notify button not showing up instead of "add to cart" unless I change the availability image....
