Hello,

I got Virtuemart 1.1.9. on joomla 1.5.23. i made a backup to transport it to another server for testing. everything works OK. first i tried to install the new virtuemart on the old joomla 1.5 installation. i get an "problem while uploading" error. i extract the package and upload it to the tmp folder with ftp. when i use this option I'll get "give packagefolder". after trying 100 times i used jupgrade. i saw that the newest jupgrade version also can take virtuemart to the joomla 1.7. No i saw virtuemart in the extension manager, but i can do nothing with that. So i tried to install the new virtuemart on this version. I get the exact same errors.

What did i do wrong??? and why does the jupgrade don't really doing a great job (i know, this last is jupgrade question and not really for this forum ;-) )

please help me!! i really like to have the newest virtuemart :-[

greetings, Marco

The installation is tested on j1.7 and j1.5 and also on j1.5 with vm1.1 on it.

" i extract the package and upload it to the tmp folder with ftp. when i use this option I'll get "give packagefolder"."

OK, i am little bit further now.

I installed wamp on my laptop and downloaded the website. i updated it to joomla 1.7 and after that i installed the latest virtuemart. Again it wont install with the zip (yes i unzipped it first;-) ) afther that i installed it from the folder and that worked (YES! 8)). After that i tried the migration, that worked partly. This is my problem:

My current categories looks like this:

Super hero's:
      Lady
      Man

Fairytale:
      Lady
      Man
Christmas
      Lady
      Man

etc. etc.

The migration script migrate parts of the main category and a couple of the lady and man subcategories and makes them main category (instat of sub category) so, now its one big mess!! It looks like he cant really handle multiple sub categories with the same name.

i solved that problem with using wamp on my laptop and install it local. i think that this got something to do with the maximum upload of 2 mb or something?

Milbo

category problem is fixed in the svn, not perfect, but better.
