I don't know if you want the translation here or by transifex. Because there is only the frontend uploaded.

I translate for joomlacommunity and I use VM by myself. I follow the development for VM 2 by Eclipse and translate it for the Dutch community.
In about two weeks (I hope ) all dutch files gone to be ready. For Frontend as well for the backend.

Hi grubosoft,

when you have the dutch language files ready, please post them here.

I think although transifex is a good idea, it still has some shortcomings. Using translation tools like 'Missing-T' (VirtueMart edition) and editors like Notepad++ (for comparing and finetuning the files) still result in better quality translations. One of  the disadvantages of transifex is, that people can't see in which context a certain string is being used.

There is a dutch frontend language file in the trunk which is approximately 50% done. Perhaps somebody volunteers to complete it  ;)

Hi. JJK

I'm now on holiday. Didn't make it as promised.
I shall verify the last version G next week and post the translations here.

Greetings

I've finished the ini file. Where can I send it to, so everybody can use it?

I replied to your private message already. Can you please zip the files and upload them here. If you didn't do so already I will make it installable for the Joomla extension manager.

Hi,

I've translated the primary frontend language file. Just unzip the attachment en place the file in /language/nl-NL and you will see the front-end is in Dutch. I also translated the other VM RC language files (see my next post)

If you see any errors, please contact me. I'll correct them and shall post it again in this post. This is version 0.2

Thank you Paul,

I've modified your frontend language a little bit (sorted the rows alphabetically), added a missing line (marked with »»» at the beginning) and uploaded it again. Will you work on the other files, too?
...I know it's a lot of work  ;)

PS: Would you please also modify your post a little bit so that it says something like "This is the dutch primary frontend language file". Note that the frontend is not complete without translating all the following files:
en-GB.com_virtuemart.ini (already translated)
en-GB.com_virtuemart.sef.ini
en-GB.com_virtuemart.sys.ini
en-GB.com_virtuemart.cart.ini
en-GB.com_virtuemart.category.ini
en-GB.com_virtuemart.manufacturer.ini
en-GB.com_virtuemart.product.ini
en-GB.com_virtuemart.search.ini

I've translated all the other VM RC files in Dutch. However: I don't get them working. Just putting them in the same language directory as the main front-end file (/language/nl-NL) doesn't work :(

I'll post them anyway. Perhaps somebody else can tell how to install them.

greetings,

Paul

p.s. I couldn't find an English sef.ini file. Instead I have translated a currencies.ini file

The following language files should be placed in your rootfolder/language/nl-NL:

nl-NL.com_virtuemart.ini (primary language file for frontent ca. 34kb)
nl-NL.com_virtuemart.sef.ini
nl-NL.com_virtuemart.sys.ini
nl-NL.com_virtuemart.cart.ini
nl-NL.com_virtuemart.category.ini
nl-NL.com_virtuemart.currencies.ini
nl-NL.com_virtuemart.manufacturer.ini
nl-NL.com_virtuemart.product.ini
nl-NL.com_virtuemart.search.ini

The dutch language files for the backend should be in your rootfolder/administrator/language/nl-NL

nl-NL.com_virtuemart.ini (Main language file for backend, ca. 130kb)
nl-NL.com_virtuemart.sys.ini
nl-NL.plg_vmpayment_paypal.ini
nl-NL.plg_vmpayment_standard.ini
nl-NL.plg_vmshipper_weight_countries.ini

The latest version of the VM2 backend language files is here: https://dev.virtuemart.net/svn/virtuemart/trunk/virtuemart/administrator/language/
The latest version of the VM2 frontend language files is here: https://dev.virtuemart.net/svn/virtuemart/trunk/virtuemart/language/

If the language file doesn't load, the reason could be that you didn't save that file encoded as "UTF-8 without BOM". Please check your editor settings for encoding. (I use the free editor Notepad++ for finetuning and saving the files)

Also, if you are using Joomla 1.7.x you need to install the Joomla dutch language pack and make it your default frontend language in order to see your dutch VM2 translation.

both URLs link finally to the same ini file (nl-NL.com_virtuemart.ini)   :(

paul.hoogland

Hi,

I've saved all the files encoded as "UTF-8 without BOM" in this version 0.3. However I don't see any changes.

greetings

Paul
