Can I setup an international trading system with Phpshop component?

Hi,

I just started to know PHPShop component and I am contemplating starting an international trading platform using this component.

In the trading system, the price is generally not shown. I want the enterprise (vendor?) to register and manage their "shop" in my site (using mambo). The registered vendors are only allowed to enter their products, the products detail, not to show their contact information (such as address, telephone, fax, etc). As long as the buyer (purchase manager?) enquires about a certain product, the administrator of my site will notify the vendors of the potential buyer.

That's my idea of running a international trading system, is it possible for PHPShop component to meet my needs?

Hello,

the idea is good and the system you want to set up is supported by mambo-phpShop,
BUT the vendor integration is very buggy at the current. You will have to modify mambo-phpShop to enable full vendor support and to prevent vendors from manipulating other vendors' products. These things are still missing. But with the help of a good developer (there are some, but I cannot recommend someone special) you will be able to achieve this quickly.
