No Order Information In My PayPal Account

VM ver 1.1.6

After an order is successfully made in VM and paid with PayPal there are two issues:

1. Order Info. from VM not in PP
2. Order Status is not changed

1. An Accountant's nightmare.  In the PayPal account there is no order number from VirtueMart.

Where/How do I make sure PayPal is being sent and receiving the VirtueMart Order Number.  There is no way to link the two transactions (PP & VM) with the information in either PayPal (VM order number) or VirtueMart (PP transaction number)

Where should I look? What do I change?


2. Order Status is not changed

In the Payment Method Form / Configuration Tab I have:

Order Status for Successful transaction = Confirmed
Order Status for Pending Payment = Pending
Order Status for failed transactions = Cancelled

...but the order status is always "Pending"

Any help with these is GREATLY appreciated.

What PayPal options should I be using?

What vm version are you using? There are a number of options in the latest one. You may opt for new api or use the traditional one. There are additional choices for new api. All of them may work but just so we understand where you are.

Which paypal module are you using? If it is New API, please also specify the configuration settings. As far as I can understand, there are a few issues with that module that needs to be resolved.

I am using the PayPal (Legacy) method.

Will the PayPal (new API) send order information to/from PayPal/VirtueMart?

If I need to use the (new API) is there any detailed documentation?  When viewing this method, the "Payment Extra Infor:" box was blank (under the Configuration tab).
