USPS intermittent results

Hi,
I have usps shipping enabled as my primary shipping.

I am using the module called:

The USPS Shipping module v4.2 supporting USPS API v3. 4.2 Chaz Mezan, Corey Koltz, VM Community

My customers indicate that sometimes there is no shipping options.  When I go and check then it seems to work.

I am curious to know if I am using the best module for USPS?

I see there are others available.

Try using the same shipping address and items in the cart as the complaining users.  If you can replicate the issue, use VirtueMart debug mode to try and get more information about what is going wrong.
