Need AJAX, XML, CSS, Javascript, VM and PHP programmer

I prefer to work with designers: USA only! NO offshore.

We are a small web design and custom development firm that specializes in Joomla web design and custom development. We have an urgent project and a need for occasional freelance technical development work for someone with the following skills:

* CSS

* HTML

* XML

* AJAX

* Javascript

* Must have some experience and knowledge of Joomla CMS and PHP. VirtueMart experience very desirable. We have technical resources specializing in these skills, so you don't have to be an expert in them. However, you must know enough about them to use the skills listed above in the context of the work we do for custom PHP programs and websites for Joomla.

Right now we have one specific small project we are seeking assistance with. We have developed a custom VirtueMart extension for Joomla that needs the frontend to be much more professional-looking and customizable for the administrator in Joomla. This is a single page extension that uses AJAX, CSS, HTML, XML and of course knowledge of VirtueMart and PHP. Our two developers  need to be working on other projects, so we are hoping to outsource this work and find a good ongoing subcontractor for future work as well.

We also are looking for someone with SOBI2 customization experience for revising the Category and Detail view for a directory in Joomla. Ideally this would be the same individual as the frontend work on our extension, but we are willing to award the two projects to two different people if that's the right solution.

If the person(s) selected works out well, there will definitely be additional work. Please note that this subcontract relationship is likely to be only about 20 - 30 hours a month at most. We are not seeking full time help at this time.

Before bidding on our project, please be sure you meet all of the following conditions:

1. Freelance, 1099 status or a firm. We do not pay under the table, period.

2. Flexible with hours on evenings and often weekends. We are in the Eastern time zone, so a Pacific time zone person might be a great fit to match up with our evening schedule

3. Must have excellent command of the English language, with very professional written communication skills. You must be able to take technical concepts and explain them in non-technical terms to both our management and our customers, if needed.

4. Able to consistently meet deadlines and customer commitments

5. Able to furnish several recent examples of your work plus client references

6. Willing to sign a Non-Disclosure and non-compete agreement for this project and any ongoing subcontractor arrangement

7. Have high ethics and communicate honestly and openly

8. You should take customer satisfaction personally... because to each and every one of our customers, it IS personal.

We do business with our customers on a fixed project price basis, but generally pay our subcontractors on an hourly basis. In your bid response, please indicate your standard hourly rate and your general pricing and payment policies.

Eastern timezone; Best way to reach me is: phone / email - Email first, we will arrange phone call time.

As far as I remember, quite a few members of the core Virtuemart team are located in Germany, even though some may also be located in the USA. In your definition of things, this would be "offshore". Who gave you the right to freeload the work of people who are obviously publishing their contributions from "offshore"?

As you should have noticed, this is an international site, where people from all over the world collaborate on the open source of particular piece of software, that is, Virtuemart. If you are unable to fit in to the community, you should urgently go elsewhere. We do not need you here.
