paypal pro ca

Hi,

I'm just starting with virtuemart, as for using the regular paypal payment method, everything flows perfectly.

Now, i didn't know better and purchased an API to process the credit card payment method to work with paypal pro ca. The problem is, when paypal actually identifies a transaction as being successful, i get an 302 IPN error from paypal, and the information doesn't make it back to virtuemart to update the status from pending to confirmed. My API vendor's support has been horrible in my case, i've been waiting for weeks to fix this. 

Sticking to paypal pro, what do you suggest? Do i really need this API?
Otherwise, would autorize.net really work without a third party API?
