Notify url ?

There's a file in /administrator/components/com_virtuemart/ which is called notify.php. You will need to enter the appropriate URL (web address) for the script file in PayPal's control panel. When a customer finishes the Payment, the PayPal server connects to this script on your server. When the transaction AND the payment have been successful, the order status is automatically updated to the status you have set in the PayPal configuration form.

Can someone please point out where this url has to go. 
I've looked over this file and can't see where to enter it...

The other thing, to help others to help you, you'd be better off posting more information. Not sure if the quote is from the user manual, developer manual another post or Paypal?

To me this seems to be a Paypal question, rather than VM. I don't know of a url you'd need to change in notify.php.

The quote is from the VM 1.1 user manual =4.12.3. Pre-Configured Payment Methods
PayPal 4.12.3.1.
So yes it is VM related and shouldnt need anymore info than what was given.
This is the paypal section so most likely to have people who have read the manual

Assuming it is a business PayPal account, the following steps should get you where you desire.

Log into your PayPal account, under the "My Account" tab, you should find a link to "Profile".  Click on "Profile"

Under "Selling Preferences" you should see a link to "Instant Payment Notification" (aka IPN). Click on "Instant Payment Notification"

You should be taken to a page titled "Instant Payment Notification (IPN)". If IPN is already enabled, click on the "Edit settings" button.

You should now see a page titled "Edit Instant Payment Notification (IPN) settings".  You can enter the link to your /com_virtuemart/notify.php script here.
