checkout.result vs. checkout.thankyou

For some reason on one particular VirtueMart installation I am stuck managing, completed PayPal orders are going to checkout.result rather than checkout.thankyou and thus are staying as pending even when successfully paid for and reported back by paypal as having completed.

Anyone have some advice to steer me in the right directino to resolve this? Thanks in advance.

When I view source on the paypal page, it has this in it (the page you click to get back to the merchant site after finishing paypal payment and before leaving paypal)

<input type="hidden" name="payment_status" value="Completed">

so the sale is going through and the payment is approved, but i get to checkout.result and not checkout.thankyou.

I had the same problem and fixed it by changing:

"return" => SECUREURL ."index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=checkout.result&order_id=".$db->f("order_id"),

into

"return" => SECUREURL ."index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=checkout.thankyou&order_id=".$db->f("order_id"),
