Hey there good people,

I've finished setting up my web store. Big thanks for Virtuemart group.

I searched a lot for a clear understanding on how it works. Do I have to sign up with a merchant account prvider to get access to authorize.net?

Do I need both of them?

Thank you
Minz

Let me answer this myself here.  :D

After some research, this is what I've found.

Authorize.Net sells its services to merchants both directly and indirectly through re-sellers, and a merchant wishing to use Authorize.Net's payment gateway services can contact either Authorize.Net or a reseller.

I'll add more later as I learn more.

Ok, just learned:

Even though you contact aurthorize.net directly. , they will provide you a merchant account of their own and its more expensive comparing other cheaper deals.

So, I guess.. Its better to find a good deal merchant account with authorize.net gateway. Always ask for quote.. its always free. Gud luck!  8)

(i haven't reached to the end yet... wish me luck too)

Yes authorize.net is a high prices reseller of merchant accounts.
I have been in the merchant account iundustry for years, and its never been a problem to take a authorize net account.
