Question: Any easy way to add product fields?

Is there any easy way to add custom fields to products, similar to custom user fields?  If not, is that planned for a future release?

This is my #1 for the wish list. Would LOVE to be able to add more variables on products/product categories that can be entered in the admin, searched upon, etc.

Once I searched around in the forum and did find a code/database solution, but it applied to the stable version. Sorry that I can't remember where I saw it, but try searching for add custom field, product field, etc.. Please let us know if you get it to work with 1.1.
