Synchronize media to VirtueMart missing Images

After migrating to J 4, the website shows no thumbs, but instead a turning wheel.
So, I Synchronize media to VirtueMart and it give me the error that thumbs are missing and shows me the path as "images\stories\virtuemart\product" while the real paths are

Uploads your media to the paths:
Media product url: images/product/
Media category url: images/category/
Media manufacturer url: images/manufacturer/

After resetting Thumbs VM creates new folders in

images\virtuemart/product
images\virtuemart/category
images\virtuemart/manufacturer

What is going on?

Check the Media Files Settings on the Configuration/Templates tab

No, it is as I wrote earlier

but it shows

Dynamic Image Resizing is not available. The GD library seems to be missing

How can the GD library be missing after a migration?

I restarted the server and the GD library is back. Not sure what causes that. php.ini shows it uncommented.

Hmm, I remembered, that I removed the "stories". But not the virtuemart folder, strange thing.

These paths are what I have - and have always had since VM stopped using the old stories subdirectory.
I don't know why yours are different.

Funy? Your path that you provided at the beginning looks funny. - or more precisely, a slash in the opposite direction - it's windows or linux?

In the media list, the field for thumbnails should be empty by default. If it is filled, it is best to clear this column in the database
