update VM 4.0.22 to 4.2.0

I have version 4.0.22 of VirtueMart installed and the message to update to version 4.2.0 is not displayed. If I click on the option to check for updates, I get the message:
Update: :Extension: No se ha podido analizar http://virtuemart.net/releases/vm3/plg_vmcustom_download_simple_update.xml
What can happen?

Download 4.2 from https://virtuemart.net/downloads  and install.

I have already tried that update, but when I do that, the whole system crashes and I have to go back to the previous situation.

Thank you, I have already solved it, it was due to a plugin that gives problems with the new version.

There is no problem with the plugin, it was just a simple error, I missed the "_update", so the file on the server was http://virtuemart.net/releases/vm3/plg_vmcustom_download_simple.xml.

Hi,

I'm currently using Virtuemart 4.0.12 with Joomla 4 but customers are receiving Class "JRequest" error when attempting to pay using PayPal. I believe that class JRequest is now deprecated, however will an upgrade to Virtuemart 4.2.2 resolve this problem without requiring any additional coding?

The new paypal_checkout plugin is available in VM 4.2.2  or can be extracted from https://virtuemart.net/releases/com_virtuemart.4.2.0.10905_package_or_extract.zip

Just a quick question - do both the PayPal plugin and the PayPal Checkout SSC plugin need to be activated, or just the PayPal Checkout SSC plugin (please see attachment) ?

PayPal Checkout SSC is a third-party plugin, not the new VM paypal_checkout plugin, shown as VM Payment - PayPal Checkout on the Payment Method dropdown list.  You should only have one PP plugin activated.

I'm starting to plan the upgrade to VM4.

From VM 3.8.8 10472 + Joomla 3.10.12 to VM 4.2.2.10908 + Joomla 4.3.4

VM 4.2.2.10908 + Joomla 3.10.12 works fine.
But VM 4.2.2.10908 + Joomla 4.3.4 is not working. I can't add any products to the cart.

It is a problem with vmcustom, it seems that it does not update well, it works with joomla 3 but not with joomla 4

The link you posted is broken and there is no update in my membership area.

How do I fix the problem?
