Header & footer text not rendered in invoices

Hello folks ...

As the "Subject:" says ... the header and footer text from the invoice setup (shop -> invoice & email)
is not rendered on a site recently updated to Joomla 4 & VM 4.

This is not just in the preview page (samplePDF) but also in the resulting invoice that is going out to customers.

After three days banging myhead agains this I'm running out of ideas.

At first I suspected TCPDF being the culprit.
- Removing TCPDF entirely ... same result
- Installing TCPDF 1.0.9 (previous release) ... same result
- Updating to TCPDF 1.2.2 (as Joomla offered this) ... same result

Well the 'result' is that only the vendor image and horizontal lines below the header and above the footer
are rendered ... but no header and footer text with my sender address and bank connection in the footer,
This is disastrous for an invoice, though ...
The order data is dropped in just fine in a resulting invoice as some test buys have revealed.

Does anyone have a clue what can cause this?

My situation:

OS:        Centos 7
Joomla:  4.2.3
PHP:      7.4.23 (still because 2 TiKi instances need this)
VM:        4.0.7 with TCPDF 1.2.2

You don't say which VM4.7  version you are using but for me the invoice head & footer work OK using VM.4.0.7.10718  (hopefully the stable release VM.7.8 is not far away now)
