reCaptcha is displayed twice in the VM registration page

Hi,

following problem:
reCaptcha v2 (not a robot checkbox) is showing up twice for me in VM's registration. I don't know when this started, but it might have been a matter of time. This is independent of the template (including vmbeez3). If I turn it off in Global config, but leave it on in VM config it still is displayed twice. The other way around (turned off in VM config) it is not displayed. Of the two reCaptchas displayed below each other, only the lower one needs to be clicked to complete the challenge and allow for registration.

I tried to use the invisible reCaptche (V3) instead, but then the error PLG_RECAPTCHA_ERROR_INCORRECT_CAPTCHA_SOL appears. I suspect it has something to do with the plugin loading twice, but don't know how that comes about.
