Related products open in new window

When I click on a related product in the module underneath the product details area, the product opens in a new window. Is this something that can be changed? Is it a default action by VM? Is it a code error? Inquiring minds (well mine anyway!) want to know.
Using on the latest Joomla and VM. Also installed latest Marketplace extension by Webkul. Template by virtuemarttemplates.net.

Speaking of virtuemart templates.net, anyone else finding conflicts between them and VM? 'add to cart' button does not work in any of the product modules. (I know, I am adding a support ticket on their site) Just curious if others are using their templates with any issues.

I would guess template ralated, probably a JS error, hard to say.

The Template people fixed the 'add to cart' problem, but I'm still hoping there is a solution to keep related products in the same window.
