Product purchased only one time by single user

Hi,
Is it possible to set user to limit a purchase of a single product only one time?
Example:
John purchase an ice cream. The second time he tryes to put an ice cream in cart will appear an alert to explain that ice cream can bought only one time.

can he come back another day and order again?

if so, set max order quantity

You can set this on product edition. If this limit is only per order and not for all orders.
