Handoff to paypal never completes

Just updated the site to Joomla 3.9.4 and VM current version (as of March 19- can't remember the version number).  Everything is fine except when the user fills out their information and submits to continue to paypal we get a notice on the page of Please wait while redirecting to paypal and a spinning blue wheel that never finishes connecting (just spins forever).  Any idea what I need to check for this?  Paypal debug info below:

In the console I get information like this when I attempt it.  The first two appear on page load, the rest after I hit the submit button:

This has nothing to do with VM imho

It may be due to your template or plugins you are running

Have you tried switching to the default protostar template and testing again?

Test without AwoRewards
