Category changes do not save

Hi everyone,

I have the following problem. When I change a product category in any product and press "save" the changes are not saved at all. When I press "save and close", the changes are saved but as soon as I open the product again, the changes are being discarded.

Any idea on how to solve this would be highly appreciated.

I am using joomla 3.8.2, Virtuemart 3.2.8 and PHP 7.0

Yes, we use german and english
