suggest related product in cart

Hi, I would like to suggest to also buy a related product to a customer that has put a product in his cart. I saw a video showing how to, but it totally did not correspond with my VM 3.0.18 version in Joomla3.7.2. Tried childproduct, but it does not show up automatically in the cart, and that is what I would like.

Nearest you can get to this without bespoke programming is to turn on "Show related products in the popup" in VM Configuration/Checkout so thet the selected product's related item is displayed. You can create an override for components/com_virtuemart/views/cart/tmpl/padded.php and add text such as "We suggest you also buy this item"

For Joomla 3.7.x you should use at least VM3.2.2
