Hi! I have to optimize a VirtueMart Shop for SEO. I checked the canoncial tags of the articles with different categories and found out that all the canonical tags are set relative. Google tells us that we always should use absolute canonical tags:
"Avoid errors: use absolute paths rather than relative paths with the rel="canonical" link element."

How can i change all the canonical-tags to absolute or is it possible to set a canonical tag for each article manually?

Thanks for your help and best regards.

I'm using VirtueMart 3.2.1 and 3.2.2 and I see only absolute canonical urls. So what Joomla/VM version do you have?
