VM Invoice problem

Hello.
I installed years ago to the client to shop expansion VM Invoice from Artio. After many years, but the entire billing slows. It takes a long time to generate invoices (5 minutes). The database contains 14,000 invoices. It will help to accelerate their deletion from the system?

Technical support Artio silent. It is their common practice. So they care about their customers. That's why I bought them at once.

copy the order tables for safe keeping
truncate the originals
test
