custom image (product attribute) one selected by DEFAULT

Im really into set first image selected by DEFAULT. its a logical problem should be solved.

a costumer wants to buy a watch. the watch has 3 color. (red, gray, Black)

if costumer does not choose any color (which is allowed by virtuemart logic), shop manager(vendor) would not follow which color was the costumer choice and should call the customer, which will make difficulties & problems in shop.

it will be fine if there is an option to choose should be any DEFAULT or not at all in case of there isn't any default choice.
