Is there a way to inform the vendor about changes in the useraccounts?

Background:

We have a fixed customergroup, primarily identifies by the companyname. All data are stored external in the bookkeeping dept.

When a customer changes f.e. his bankaccount within the shop and places an order later, the bookkeepingtries to charge from the account stored in their records...

I guess a plugin triggered when a user details is stored.. look for a trigger in the user model
