Re-Create all Thumbnails

I am having issues with product thumbnails.
I would like to recreate all the thumbnail.
From searching around I found that if I just delete the contents of the public_html/images/stories/virtuemart/product/resized directory, the thumbnails will be created dynamically (at least this was so in VM2.

1) I assume that the thumbnails will be dynamically recreated in VM3 as well, but I thought it prudent to ask before I delete everything.

2) Is there a way (add-on, utility, etc ) to force creation of all the thumbnnails.  That way I could do this in the middle of the night and the web site would not slow down when customers are on the site.

yes.. just delete the folder

2. none that I know of.. although just use a site crawler to visit all the pages .. but honestly .. the thumb creation takes mSecs

Deleting the resized directory broke my site.

Some manufacturer pages displayed as if the template was broken.
Until I have time to research this issue I will just live with extra thumbnails in the resized directory.

yes.. just delete the folder

and then recreate it obviously..... or just empty it

The system immediately recreated the directory.
However the category page for two manufacturers was somehow screwed up.  It looked like the template was broken. 

I do not have the time now to try and figure out exactly what caused it.  When I have more time I will play with it I will see if I can figure out what is different with our site.
