Products won't display in frontend??

I've been working in Virtumart for the first time.  I cannot get products to show in their categories.  Am running VM 3 and Joomla 3.  I have ensured that new products are published, available to all shopper groups and they will display when I make them featured.  Subcategories show up on the category pages and I've made sure its not an SEF issue.  Anyone know why my products would show up when made "Featured" but wont display at all in the categories they belong to?  Apparently this could be a Template issue, but even when everything was set to 'default' the products wouldn't display.

Any help may help me keep my hair a while longer.  Thanks.

Firstly http://forum.virtuemart.net/index.php?topic=79799.0   URL?

Did you install the default/demo products and did they display OK? Are you using a commercial template? Are the products published, available for all shopper groups and in stock?

To check template issues set the Joomla template to Protostar.

Jenkinhill,

I've put the shop temporarily online so you can have a look at it.   http://www.kodas.ca/index.php/shop is the URL for now.
VM ver 3.0.12, Joomla ver 3.4.8.

The products are published, in stock and available to all user groups.  As you can see, they are displayed in my featured products but when you click on the categories they're attached to, the pages come up blank.  The template is Protostar and I haven't made any coding changes to it other than the header and footer for the entire site.

I feel like I've done something wrong with how the categories should be displayed, or maybe the linking, but am too newb to figure it out.

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Turned off SEF; categories and products are published.  Products are attached to categories as you can see in the details of the products displayed in the Featured Products.

Thanks again.

In case these images are any help.  I'm stumped.  And it's likely some stupid change I should have seen in the beginning, but here we are. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I can see nothing wrong with your set up on those screens

a screen of the admin config might help

Sorry for the very late reply; I've been enjoying the fruits or a hard disc failure as well.  Here are some screenshots of my settings in the VirtueMart config screen.  I'm starting to think I should just delete my shop and reinstall or something.
