Those 'typos' are intentional. (I'm not a developer, so I can't tell you why those lines have to include the komma. But there is a reason) I know Joomla language debug reports them as an error, but nevertheless they do work.

maybe it's an old solution or even obsolet,
maybe a developer can solve it differently now or drop it for vm3?

It is a new solution (added a few months ago). I complained about it too, but development said it's necessary.
