Apply Quantity Price rules to category in cart

Virtuemart 3.0.10  Joomla 3.4.0
I have pricing levels for quanity set just fine at the individual product level, but I have different products within a category.  If they select 2 different items from the same category, in the cart, they should receive a discounted price per item. If they pick 2 of the same item, the discount works obviously just fine.  How do you make the discounting work for 2 different items that would both be eligible for a discounted price, at the cart level?

Thanks.  I did ultimately find and go with the module quantity-related-price-calculation.  It works great!
