VirtueMart Search Plugin Functionality

May be I am missing something with the VirtueMart Search Plugin Functionality, since it hardly gives the right search results when searching on a productname or part of the name. The product is not even in the results or it is at resultspage number 23, so it will never be found. It only gives better search results when I search on the SKU, but this is not wat a customer ever will do.

May be there are settings in the plugin that I do not know of? I am clueless about what I need to do to improve search results. Do I need to add a plugin from a third party for more acurate search results?

How can I improve search results, making them more relevant, without customers needing to crawl throughout the entire webshop or all the search results produced?

I'm using both, the 'VM - Search in Shop' module and the 'VirtueMart Product' plugin, which adds a product search to the Joomla search Plugin. Both are working precisely accurate. No idea what could be wrong in your case.

After a long periode of time  , today I finally found out what my problem was! Uhm... nothing special actually!! 

In the VM Configuration, Product Order Settings tab,  in the Available Search Fields, I did not only have Product Name ticked, I ticked many more Search Fields! That is what (ofcourse) cluttered the search results! Sometimes it can be so simple!
