Unable to change configuration in VM

Joomla 3.4.1 + VM 3.0.6

Did an upgrade to this config a few weeks ago and everything is working, more or less.

However, I cannot change any configuration items in VM. I can't change to "administrated multivendor", I can't change almost anything.

I have done the following:

0. Spent hours reading forum posts and trying everything!
1. Made sure only one vendor, that vendor is a Joomla SuperUser and ID matches in Joomla and VM tables of users and shoppers (62)
2. Went to the vmusers table and made sure that Shopper 62 is the only one with 1 and 1 in is_user and is_vendor tables.
3. Used Tools and Migration, Set Store Owner to 62. This works, but does nothing.
4. If I click on that Shopper 62 via VM Orders and Shoppers- Shoppers, there is a Vendor Tab.
5. If I click Shop-Shop it goes to that Shopper 62, Tab is visible again.
6. Once on that shopper- click permissions, all are set to inherited, only the Product section is Green (Allowed). There is no save button on that page.

I was doing a user cleanup because of hundreds of spam accounts ,and it's very possible that I deleted the original super user shopper account.

But what should I do now? Is it possible that manipulating the back end with Google Chrome can cause issues like this? I tried Microsoft Explorer too with no success.

try making a new super user - then make that one the single vendor.. if necessary via the DB etc ... u know your way around it

OK, working on that.

Got this error.
"The user with virtuemart_user_id = 1576 is set as vendor, but has no referencing vendorId."

Then looked at the table VMUsers with phpMyAdmin and found no vendor_ID. There are 3 users in that table, I gave them all vendor_IDs, 1,2,3 The new one is 1.

Even tried deleting all three lines in this table and just creating one SuperUser, but no good.

When I go to Config-Config-ShopFront, and change something like "Show Inventory Level", and hover on Save button, status shows Javascript:void(0)

Also continue to get this error and of course I can't save that change either.
