Modeling Products with identifier

Hi I'm new to virtuemart, so please don't be too hard on me 

I need some advice for configuring properly products. The e-shop will sell discount card, so I want to assign a card unique identifier to each product purchased. Then an email containing this id will be sent to the customer.

How can I achieve this with virtuemart?
