Cart shows 'No shipment selected' with default shipping specified

Hi,

VM3.0.6.2

In the 'Checkout' tab in VM configuration I have selected a shipping method as the setting for 'Enable Automatic Selected Shipment'. I have several shipping methods to choose from 'Next day free', Saturday delivery, pre-noon next day, Pre 9am next day and so on.

However, the cart always shows 'No shipment selected' when first displayed (though the correct radio button is automatically selected). However, the default shipment is shown if you progress to the next checkout step then cancel without entering any details. If you then show the cart again the default shipping method is displayed.

Hi,

In case anyone gets a chance to look into this one here are some images that better explain the problem.

The checkout config is as per the first image.

The front end shows 'No shipment selected' even though the correct radio button is automatically selected. See second image.

If customer selects 'Checkout' without applying shipping method then hits the cancel button on the next page without filling any details he is returned to the cart. This time the shipping method is shown.

basically the shipping method isn't "saved" even though the default 1st radio is "selected"

simplest solution is don't have the OPC - use step by step then the user must choose and save their choice

One Page Checkout is the preferred method. The vote here is to hack to not show the incorrect selected shipment notice.

I know it's a small detail but the list of files I need to check with each update over-write is getting longer.... 

Is there an extension that can list modified files prior to a VM or Joomla update? I have a list I try to maintain but I'm getting nervous I may miss one.
