Jroute error in category

Hi everyone.

I'm having troubles with JRoute. When I use:

echo JRoute::_('index.php?option=com_virtuemart&view=category&virtuemart_category_id='.$virtuemart_category_id.)

always returns the same category sef path, whatever $virtuemart_category_id value. I've tried adding &Itemid and replacing virtuemart_category_id with category_id and the result is the same.
Tried in vm 2.0.18, 2.0.24 and 2.0.26 with no html overrides.

All the answers are welcome.
