Any worries about upgrading php version?

Just discovered that my host offers upgrade of php version. Right now my Joomla/VM is running on 5.3.27. But I have the option to choose to upgrade to either 5.4.30 or 5.5.14.
Should I update and which version should i choose?

You don't say what versions J & VM?

I run all my J2.5.26/VM2.6.6 on php 5.4.30

5.27 is fine. atm I work myself on php5.4. I think now is the time to optimise vm for php5.5, the you should switch
