Flag or setting in VirtueMart that sets shipping to "Residential"

I was on the phone with a FedEx developer looking @ our VirtueMart transactions, and he said the shipping charges we are producing align more with commercial rather than residential.  Is there a setting or flag somewhere that gives up a choice to go more of a "residential" expression/calculation than use our current "commercial" style of shipping.
We gave him the FedEx meter number, and all is coming across correctly, it's just more of a "commercial" minded shipping charge...and we need it to be more catered towards residential.

Have you asked the developer of your FedEx shipping plugin? It is not part of VM core files.

Yes, we've been on the phone with him for a bit.  He's saying there should be a flag somewhere to allow user to say if business is residential or business, and that would affect final calculation before checkout on shipping costs.

Wouldn't it be far easier to set this once in the payment plugin - it can only be just a parameter sent to Fedex

If I was a client and asked to choose between 2 different methods of shipping - one more expensive than the other.. hmmm .. what would I choose... hmmmm

Sounds great...so, where's the "Residential" flag I could set to true? 

Is there something out there we could use to apply residential shipping charges?

Your using a commercial plugin - it is up to the developer to read the fedex api guff and set the flag accordingly -

Need option for store owner, who sells salsa and Mexican foods, to be able to change this flag (from Residential back to Commercial...or set to Residential) via the Joomla backend...not have to be programmer or need programmer involvement.

When you say "your using a commercial plugin"...what do you mean?

One Fedex shipping plugin are you using?  If it's a free one there will be great interest in it..

Hello!

If I go to Shop >> Shipping Methods, I see "FedEx".
Click that, and the dropdown list for "Shipping Method" is "Vm Shipment Jcfedex"

Plugin Manager just says "Plug-in Manager: Vm Shipment - Jcfedex"
