multiple generic child variants

VM 2.6.0

I am trying to create a box of wine, consisting of 6 bottles, and want the customer to choose from the child products (with different prices). When I add 6 x generic child variant fields with different titles(Bottle 1, Bottle 2 etc) and added the custom fields to the parent.
My problem is that in the front end when any of the custom fields are changed, the other 5 fields change to the same content.
The solutions such as stockable child variants I have looked at in this forum will not address my problem due to the box value.
Please help
