VM 2.6.0
Joomla 2.5.2 (and updating)
Platform 11.4.0

Lets play with the thougt that I have an existing shop named www.producs.com.
I now want to set up an MV-shop with the name www.spareparts.com, which will contain spareparts for the products shown in the "www.producs.com"shop.

How is this done most easilly?
Is multivendor (or multishop) something to take into the calculations of this type of solution?

Some things to wish for in a solution:
1. I would like to have all the products and spareparts in the same "backend" for easy changing of price and general info.
2. The two sites will have different templates and different domains.
3. "Shared" user-database for customer-login is appritiated

I've tried to find some resent posted threads and solutions regarding this, but cant find any.

If you would like to consider a 3rd party solution, you may check Multi Vendor extension for Virtuemart here:
https://codingmall.com/products-mainmenu-8/145-multi-store-multi-vendor-virtuemart

This can exactly do what you need. One Joomla and Virtuemart installation only. With only one back end, multiple front ends are allowed on different domains. You can also have a different Joomla/Virtuemart template on each front end domain.

Of course, you can have different shipping and payment methods for each front end but you can also use same methods on all stores. Highly configurable.

Please read also our manual http://docs.virtuemart.net/manual/general-concepts/211-multivendor.html
The 'Multi Vendor extension for Virtuemart' from CodingMall recommended above seems to be much more capable than the native multivendor functions.
Or is VM 3.6.10 more capable now, than described in your linked VM docs?

Kind regards,
Gerald

EDIT: Anyone knows about that?
