Why there is no Tax shown for coupons?

Dont know if this is a layout issue but the thing is that coupons get not tax shown at backend order details for orders or order e-mail when it seems there is actually a hidden tax being applied for them too as they get deducted from the base price and not from the final price as we though, so there is actually a tax there not shown.

Can someone confirm if this is correct and if is just a layout issue?
