Needing a way to sell multiple different skus under one product

I am doing a site for a customer and they are now selling Brake and Clutch Levers for motorcycles, atv, etc. My problem is that we don't want to have to create 200+ products for each make/model due to price changes being very long and difficult to go through each. So we are wanting to have a single product with a a selection tool to narrow down the make, model, year, then also the lever color and adjuster color for each. The lever colors are limited to 4 colors on one version with 7 adjuster color options.

With each lever color option there is a standard selection so choosing any of the other 6 adjusters adds $10. Also some skus are interchangeable to other makes and models and all versions come in a regular length lever and a short or shorty version. I have thought of creating a product with each make, model, year as a different child product but I"m still not sure how to make that work. In all there are about 50 different skus, about 400+ different bikes, each with 4-5 different lever colors options and 7 different adjuster color options and a regular length and a shorty version. The customer needs to be able to select their make model etc so that the correct sku is ordered for their bike and so that the correct sku is placed on the order form so the correct version is shipped.
