Shipping method based on custom field selection

I have two different product types - MP3 to download and CD to post, but these are two options for one product. I've differentiated it with custom field for a given product and add an extra price for CD. My problem now is I don't know how to define shipping method based on custom field choice. I could use the weight method, but is it possible to add custom field which changes the product price and weight at the same time?

I'm beginner with VirtueMart and I don't know how to manage with this virtual vs physical products problem in order to have appropriate method of delivery.

I'll be grateful for any tip, how to cope with that...

I think you should look at the instructions for your downloadable products plugin (I assume you have one) as this is likely to cover how to handle shippable and downloads in the same store. If not then ask the plugin developer.

The plugin is: VM - Custom - iStraxx product download. In its tutorial I've found the weight method. No mention about the same product virtual and real.

Do you know maybe some other plugin that supports functionality I'm looking for?
