upgraded to VM 2.0.24a and lost all products on category pages

I upgraded from VM 2.0.24 to 2.0.24a today. But now when I go to any of my category pages I can't see any products. The products are still there is I can see them in my galery module on the home page and load them from there but they are just not displaying on any of gthe category pages.

Running Joomla 2.5.16.

Check in Config/templates that "Category Template " is set to the correct template - usually use Joomla default.

Template is set to Joomla default for category. Tried changing to others but didn't make any difference. I downgraded to 2.0.24 ad then the products appeared. I have upgraded again and then they are gone. Left site on 2.0.24a to try and find out why this is happening to my site on this upgrade.

Any news on this? All works ok if I downgrade to 2.0.24, so must be something to do with the way the latest update works.
Also maybe because by server is only running PHP 5.2.17
Really need to get this foxed as can't work on a site that doesn't display any products.
