VM 2.0.20b and 2.0.24 order & confirmation emails not sending to anyone.

Admin & customer do not receive emails per this topic.  My major concern is that I do not have the choice to add "Pending" to the Default Order Status to send email to shopper
I have added "Pending" to the Default Order Status to send email to vendor, but have not tested as I was hoping to test both email messages, vendor & shopper, at the same time...

So, I guess my real question before testing is how to add "Pending" to the choices for Default Order Status to send email to shopper...?

After some more digging, I found this temporary solution until VM updates for the changes in J 3.5.1

Still does not account for the missing option for "Pending" in the "Default Order Status to send email to shopper" choices...
